We can do it faster, better, cheaper

Overseeing a medical practice, supervising a staff, and seeing patients can be a stressful job all on its own. But when you throw in the task of billing, the misery index can soar in a hurry. Billing isn’t something you should tackle alone.

And for many good reasons. The average practice spends 15 percent of its overhead on collections. The cost of computer systems, upgrades, forms, postage, benefits, and office space, all adds up. And, of course, there is plenty of employee labor involved. If your office manager spends most of his or her time handling billing, then you’re wasting precious resources and probably need outside help.

If you’re serious about increasing your revenues, you should ask yourself these questions:

  • How much does it cost to do billing in my office?
  • What is the quality of the billing performed in my office (i.e. percentage of errors monthly, percentage of adjustments to payments, frequency of on-time patient billings, reviews of denied charges and their frequency)
  • What is your accounts receivable (A/R)? (Does your entire A/R exceed more than two months of your practice income? Is more than 25 percent of your A/R past 90 days?)

Your monthly accounting reports may tell you how much money your practice is earning.  But they don’t tell you what you’re losing through improper coding and lack of aggressive follow-up.  With DBA/WCDB as your partner, you’ll avoid all the billing overhead expenses, while increasing your revenue through more and faster collections.

What’s more, you’ll pay us only when we collect.  Our staff has a strong incentive to collect for all the services you bill (unlike on-staff administrators, who get paid regardless of the amount collected). If we don’t collect, we don’t get paid.
